Research Our aim is to contribute significantly to the theoretical foundations as well as to provide research results that are strongly connected to the practice. We are thus working interdisciplinary on a national as well international level and transfers latest scientific findings into practice. In terms of methodology we apply empirical research approaches in order to generate and publish our research results in relevant journals. We strive also for the implementation of our research results into practice. This is achieved by applied projects and publications in practice-oriented journals. Thereby, we focus on the following three areas: Corporate Governance Focusing on the research of concrete actions of the board of directors as a company’s highest controlling body; both interdisciplinary and international in step with actual Swiss board practice. Board Governance Concentrating on the responsibility and accountability of boards of directors in respect of their individual board structure, board composition, and board processes; including amongst others board working style, board relationships, board activity, board commitment, and board performance. Organizational Control Specializing on the relationship and collaboration of different organizational control functions, such as; the board of directors, audit committee, management, internal and external auditing, risk management and compliance.
